Privacy policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
Rovari is operated by Centriva Technology LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy describes what the app actually collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Rovari website and app.
1. Information you give us
- Account. Your email address and a password, or the identity your sign-in provider shares with us when you use Google or Apple (usually your name and email). With Apple you may choose to hide your email; we then receive a relay address.
- Saved places and visits. Places you save, the collections you put them in, and places you mark as visited.
- Outings. Title, place, date and time, meeting point, notes, the display name you choose, and invitee email addresses and phone numbers you enter.
- Invitation replies. When you answer an invitation: the name you enter, your answer (Going, Maybe, Can't go) and any message you write to the organizer.
- Support requests and problem reports. Your message, the topic, and the email and name you provide.
2. Information collected automatically
- Location, only if you allow it. Your browser shares approximate coordinates to find nearby places, weather and your city. You can choose a place manually instead. We don't keep a history of your location on our servers.
- On this device. Without an account, saves, visits, filters, recently viewed places, theme and chosen location stay in your browser's local storage. When you answer an invitation without signing in, a random private key is stored in your browser so only you can change your answer. We store only a one-way hash of that key.
- Technical data. Our hosting and sign-in providers process standard request data, such as IP address, browser type and timestamps, to run and secure the service.
- Usage counts. We keep anonymous daily totals of page views, actions (for example “place saved”) and normalized search terms. They are not linked to you, your account or your device, and are not sent to any third-party analytics service.
3. How we use information
- To provide the app: sign-in, syncing saves and visits across devices, outings, invitations, RSVPs and messages, and calendar feeds.
- To show relevant places, weather and events for the area you're browsing.
- To answer support requests, handle reports and moderate content.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse (for example rate limits on forms), and fix problems.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
4. Who can see what
- Your outings are private unless you turn on an invite link.
- Anyone with an invite link can see the outing details, the organizer's display name, and the names and answers of people who responded.
- Invitee email addresses, phone numbers and messages sent to the organizer are visible only to the organizer. They are never shown on the invite page.
- You can turn off or replace an invite link at any time. The old link stops working immediately.
- Your private calendar feed link shows your outings to anyone who has that link. Keep it private, and reset it if it has been shared.
- A small number of authorized Rovari moderators can read support requests, reports and place suggestions, and can edit or hide listings. To handle abuse, administrators can read messages sent through an outing invite and cancel an outing; they cannot see invitee email addresses or phone numbers. Staff actions are logged.
5. Services we use
- Hosting, database and sign-in: our cloud infrastructure provider stores account and app data.
- Sign-in providers: Google and Apple, if you choose them.
- Place, map and weather data: Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, OpenStreetMap (including the Overpass service), Open-Meteo, Zippopotam.us and BigDataCloud. These requests include the place or area you're viewing, not your account details.
- Events: Ticketmaster's listings service when it is configured, plus AI web search. Ticket buttons take you to the seller's site, and that site's own privacy policy then applies.
- AI search: to estimate costs, hours, phone numbers and events, we send a place or area name to an AI model provider through our AI service. We don't send your account details or messages.
- Calendar: calendar buttons open Google Calendar or download a file. We never access your calendar.
- Email: sign-in and password emails are sent by our sign-in provider. Replies to your support requests, and internal staff alerts, are sent through our email delivery provider (Resend) from rovari.app addresses. Invitation emails you send go from your own email app; Rovari does not send invitation emails itself.
6. How long we keep information
We keep account data, saves, visits, outings, replies and messages while your account or the outing exists. Deleting an outing deletes its replies and messages. Cached place facts expire after about two weeks. Support requests and reports are kept as long as needed to resolve them and to keep a record of moderation.
7. Your choices
- Use Rovari without an account, and without sharing your location.
- Edit or delete outings, remove saves and visits, and turn off invite links at any time.
- Clear this browser's site data to remove on-device information.
- You can delete your account yourself from your Profile. To get a copy of your data or correct it, send a request through the contact form from your account email. We'll confirm the request comes from you before acting on it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
8. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Access to stored data is limited by account-level rules, so each person can reach only their own saves, visits and outings. Invite links and guest keys are long random values. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your invite and calendar links private.
9. Children
Rovari is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change, and revise the date at the top.
11. Questions
Send privacy questions through the Rovari contact form. For company information, visit the Centriva Technology website.
